Small Group Consultation
I am establishing a small consultation group in 2026. The group is specifically for mental health professionals, and offers an opportunity to explore deeper aspects of therapeutic work. We will move beyond clinical strategy to focus on the conscious and unconscious dynamics between therapist and patient.

The group will prioritise the task of focusing on the relationship between the patient and therapist. We do so by considering:
Transference and countertransference: Identifying feelings evoked in the consulting room.
The clinical dyad: Thinking about the patient through the lens of the working relationship.
The holding environment: Providing a safe, confidential space for professional vulnerability.
This is not group supervision, and the facilitator does not participate in a supervisor capacity. Rather, the facilitator's task is to maintain the frame of the group—a focus on the working relationship between patient and therapist.
Group format
Each session, a member presents a case spontaneously without the use of formal notes. This is followed by a brief clarification phase where the group asks factual questions. The presenter then listens. The group reflects on the presentation. This process encourages a "dreaming" of the case. It reveals new perspectives on difficult clinical moments.
